The Shift: What No One Told You About Perimenopause (But You’re Not Crazy)

You’re Not Crazy. You’re in The Shift.

If you’ve been thinking…

“I don’t feel like myself.”

“I’m exhausted, but I can’t sleep.”

“I’m anxious out of nowhere.”

“Is this burnout? Depression? Hormones?”

“Why does my body feel so foreign?”

…you’re not alone.

You’re not broken.

You’re in The Shift.

Perimenopause—the season before menopause—isn’t something most of us were taught about. It’s not just hot flashes and night sweats. It can start as early as your mid-30s and last for years. And for many women, it feels like everything is changing—physically, emotionally, mentally, even spiritually.

But here’s the truth:

You’re not falling apart. You’re recalibrating.

What Is Perimenopause, Anyway?

Perimenopause is the transition phase before menopause. It’s when your hormones—especially estrogen and progesterone—begin to shift and fluctuate.

Unlike menopause, which marks 12 months without a menstrual cycle, perimenopause is the long, winding road before that.

Common symptoms include:

  • Fatigue (that no amount of coffee fixes)

  • Mood swings or unexpected anxiety

  • Irregular periods

  • Brain fog and forgetfulness

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Weight gain, especially around the midsection

  • Decreased libido

  • Feeling “off” or “not like myself”

You may not be able to check every box, and that’s okay. The Shift is different for everyone, but it’s very real.

Why Traditional Medicine Often Misses It

Too often, women are told:

  • “Your labs look normal.”

  • “It’s just stress.”

  • “This is just aging.”

  • “Come back when your period stops.”

But normal labs don’t mean optimal health. And stress? It doesn’t explain why your entire internal compass feels off.

This is why The Shift exists at Elevate Women’s Wellness. Because women deserve care that sees the whole picture, not just the lab results.

How to Support Your Body Through The Shift

At Elevate, we approach this season gently and holistically—with root-cause care and rhythm-based wellness.

Here are a few foundational tools that can help:

1. Nourishment > Nutrition

Now is not the time to restrict. It’s time to rebuild. Minerals like magnesium, potassium, and sodium become vital as your adrenals and thyroid work harder.

(The Shift 12-week program can help with this. I'll let you know more about that later.)

2. Regulate Before You Supplement

Before you add hormone creams or jump into protocols, ask: Is my nervous system supported?

Nervous system regulation is one of the most overlooked keys in perimenopause healing.

3. Rest Isn’t Optional

You can’t out-supplement sleep deprivation.

This is a season to slow down, reassess your life-load, and honor your body’s new rhythm.

4. Ask for Help

Your symptoms are whispering for support. Whether it’s lab testing, frequency therapy, or energy work, you’re worthy of more than just “pushing through.”

The Shift Is More Than Hormones—It’s Identity

The real weight of perimenopause?

It’s not just the symptoms. It’s the invisibility, the identity crisis, the grief of no longer feeling like the woman you once were, without yet knowing who you’re becoming.

You may be questioning everything.

You may feel stuck between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.

You may miss yourself.

Let me say this clearly:

  • You’re still in there.

  • You’re not fading. You’re unfolding.

  • You don’t need to “bounce back.” You get to become.

Let’s Walk This Together

You are not alone.

You are not too sensitive, too tired, too late, or too much.

You’re shifting.

And this shift? It may be your most powerful one yet.
